Mmmarket Night is tomorrow night and I hope some of you are considering attending.

November 8, 2012 ~ 7pm-10pm

I picked up my ticket yesterday and at that time the event had sold 1,000 tickets. This is the first time the St Lawrence Market has organized this type of event and it looks like it will be a successful one.

The St Lawrence Market office is a bit difficult to find. I thought it would be in the south building but it’s in the north side in the north west corner.  Not the Jarvis St side but the laneway side.

With your ticket you get free parking and 2 complimentary drink tickets.  Don’t forget this event showcases all of the great food at the St Lawrence Market and at the same time contributes to FoodShare Toronto. 50% of the ticket price ($50) will go to helping FoodShare deliver healthy food and build food literacy in Toronto communities and guests will receive tax receipts for $25 for their purchase.

Their partner Millstreet Brewery will be on hand as well as their merchant, Wine Country Merchants. Guests will be treated to a performance by Art Battle.  and have the opportunity to meet renowned Chef David Adjey.  If you watch the Food Network or HGTV you will have seen the critically acclaimed, Canadian chef, television personality and award-winning author at his best on Restaurant Makeover, or possibly Iron Chef America.  He also won an award for his cookbook ““Deconstructing the Dish: Inspirations for Modern-Day Cuisine” which I may just have to add to my collection. (NOTE:  Yes (sigh), it has been added to my collection.  It was the last copy on the shelf and I will be trying some of his recipes and will share them with you.)

Nearly 50 stalls will be offering their specialties for your tasting pleasure.  50 tastings for $50!  Is there a better food event than that out there that gives 50% of the proceeds back to the community?  That’s where I’m going to be! Maybe I’ll even get to meet the famous David Adjey, or get close enough to get a photo of him?
